I wrote about the situation in the DR Congo a couple of times in the past and i don’t get tired to do so again and again. The situation is still far from good or even calm and with news coming up every week with more people on the run, this time before the Lord’s Resitance Army (LRA), famous for their cruelty and for abducting children as child soldiers, it’s nothing to forget about and to not talk about. The violence in the DRC is not coming to an end and it seems like that always when on part of Eastern Congo is becoming a little bit more calm it explodes somewhere else again. In the last time there are even more cases coming up where also men are raped, giving the DRC once more the inglorious title world centre of rape. The brutality is not understandable and there seems to be no real way out of that right now what makes every effort NGOs are undertaking even harder. Everytime a doctor is going to bed it means that people die and everytime a food supply is not reaching the IDP camps, people starve or die as well. Therefore it is not high enough to appreciate that NGOs like UNHCR or MSF give everything to work for a little bit of stability and peace in this chaos.
MSF started some time ago a multimedia website called Condition:Critical to create awarness for the situation in the DRC. I wrote about this before. Part of the latest action was a series of short films i wanna show you below. For some of my pictures from the DRC and more information go here.
Consider also a donation to one of those organisations. This is one of the places in the world, where only the work of NGOs can help the people right now. Thank you!
