Stories of a Crisis
Yesterday early in the morning I started a trip to Greece for my latest project that right now has the working title ‘Stories of a Crisis’. In Frankfurt I met up with fellow filmmaker Yann Verbeke, someone you might know from his HUMANS film about the french farmer Francis. Three hours later we arrived in Athens to meet with Stavros Makris, old friend and biologist-turned-photographer. As a three man team we will explore different and personal stories of the effects of the current crisis in Greece.
Our first stop is Agrinio, a small town in Western Greece. Today is scouting day, what means meeting people, talking, building possible storylines, checking locations – in short building the base for the filming of the multimedia stories that will come out of this project. It’s going well so far and already two stories have a shape that would allow us to start tomorrow right away.
But first we’ll teach a photography class this evening at the beautiful lakes here, organized by a cultural initiative.
You can follow the project in the making on our production blog storiesofacrisis.tumblr.com.
